چکیده
Real-time adaptive sampling is a new technique recently proposed for efficient importance in realtime Monte Carlo subsurface scattering. It adaptively places samples based on variance tracking to help escape the uncanny valley of rendering. However, occasional performance drop due temporal lighting dynamics (e.g., guns or lights turning and off) could hinder adoption games other applications where smooth high frame rate preferred. In this paper we propose novel usage Control Variates (CV) sample domain instead shading maintain consistent low pass time. Our algorithm seamlessly reduces diffuse with zero scattering sub-pixel We joint-optimization count CV coefficient estimation. The main enabler our time-variant covariance updating method that helps remove effect recent from tracking. Since bandwidth critical real-time rendering, solution without adding any extra textures also provided.

Real-time subsurface scattering on the GPU
We present a GPU algorithm that computes subsurface light transport in real time on arbitrary animated meshes. We evaluate both single scattering and multiple scattering, by using piecewise linear and ring-based approximations of the surface in the fragment shader. We demonstrate our technique on animated meshes at 60 fps.
متن کاملFuzzy Motion Control for Wheeled Mobile Robots in Real-Time
Due to various advantages of Wheeled Mobile Robots (WMRs), many researchers have focused to solve their challenges. The automatic motion control of such robots is an attractive problem and is one of the issues which should carefully be examined. In the current paper, the trajectory tracking problem of WMRs which are actuated by two independent electrical motors is deliberated. To this end, and ...
متن کاملControl Variates as Screening Functions
Suppose that the mean μ = E[F (X)] of a given function F : R → R is to be estimated by the empirical average Ŝn := 1 n ∑n i=1 F (Xi) of the values F (Xi), where X1,X2, . . . ,Xn are independent samples distributed like X. In cases when the mean ν = E[U(X)] of a different function U : R → R is known, we introduced a sampling rule, called the “screened estimator,” which states that we should only...

متن کاملAn Adaptive Sampling Scheme for Real-Time Subsurface Scattering
We present a novel real-time subsurface scattering algorithm that is computed purely on the GPU. It is implemented as pixel shader and works solely in screen space, making it independent from scene complexity. We improve the Translucent Shadow Maps technique by introducing an adaptive hierarchical sub-sampling scheme to exploit the fact that homogeneous surfaces have a smooth contribution to th...
